Student Executive
The Vice President of Campus Relations (VPCR) is a student executive role serving as the primary liaison between the student body, Nipissing University Student Union, and external stakeholders. This includes building and maintaining relationships with university administration, community partners, and government bodies while also representing student interests in internal and external spaces. The VPCR also plays a large role in promoting collaboration across campus and strengthening connections between students and the broader North Bay community.
The VPCR acts as the Chief Executive Officer of the Corporation. The role is primarily focused on relationship-building and the advocacy of academic needs for the student body, including assisting students with concerns and academic petitions. They also act as the primary liaison between prominent members of Nipissing University, the Canadian Federation of Students (CFS), government officials at the Federal, Provincial, and Municipal levels, and the North Bay Community to represent and advocate for all the students of Nipissing University.

Student Representation
• Represent NUSU as a voting member on the Nipissing University Board of Governors and Academic Senate
• Serve on key institutional and joint committees, including those related to student fees and finance;
• Act as the primary liaison to the Canadian Federation of Students (CFS and CFS-Ontario), attending all general meetings; and,
• Provide regular updates and reports to ensure student perspectives are reflected in decision-making.
Advocacy
• Serve as the primary contact for student concerns and academic grievances;
• Support and oversee academic petitions while working with faculty and administration to address student needs;
• Develop and research strategies to strengthen advocacy efforts on campus; and,
• Facilitate regular meetings with academic leadership to address student issues and engagement opportunities.
• Relationship-Building.
• Act as the main liaison between NUSU, university administration, students, and the North Bay community;
• Build and maintain relationships with external partners, including other student unions and all levels of government;
• Lead advocacy campaigns on federal and provincial student issues; and,
• Promote student engagement in NUSU governance, including elections and referenda.
Governance
• Serve as Vice-Chair of the NUSU Board of Directors and Governance-related committees, and Chair meetings when required;
• Lead the Audit & Finance Committee and support advisory committees as needed;
• Ensure organizational compliance with applicable legislation and governing documents; and,
• Act as a signing authority for agreements as approved by the Board or Executive Committee.
Sponsorship & Partnerships
• Support the development and maintenance of sponsorships in collaboration with internal departments;
• Act as a primary liaison with sponsors and ensure ongoing communication;
• Coordinate sponsorship needs for events and promotional initiatives; and,
• Provide regular updates on sponsorship activities to relevant committees.
Executive Leadership & Operations
• Chair Executive Committee meetings and support governance processes, including elections;
• Collaborate with the Executive team to uphold NUSU policies, strategic planning, and organizational priorities;
• Foster effective communication, collaboration, and accountability across all departments; and,
• Complete additional duties as required by the Board of Directors and/or Executive Committee for governing documents.
