Shinerama off to a good start!

On a beautiful Saturday, July 24th student volunteers from Canadore College and Nipissing University hosted a fundraiser carwash. Fifteen eager students were up at the crack of dawn scrubbing cars to get a head start on this September’s Shinerama campaign. The wonderful North Bay community was very supportive to the cause, and some people even had multiple cars washed. The students washed everything from muddy jeeps, bicycles, large trucks, and everything in between.

Overall the fundraiser was a huge success and much of the credit goes to the generosity of the City of North Bay. The College and University students are now aiming to break last year’s Shinerama record this September.

A special thanks to the Mac’s Convenience on Main St. East for their great hospitality to the loud and spirited shiners. The carwash ran from 10-4pm and ended up raising $835.11 towards this year’s goal of $17,500.01
