Monday March 8th: Reduce Reuse Recycle

Come and see all the artwork made by staff and students by recycling University waste materials. There are other activities taking place in the student center as well such as a swap shop, recycling advice which will be taking place all week long!

Dig out those clothes you don’t wear anymore and exchange them into something new by swapping them at our swap shop! Drop off any clothes that you do not wear anymore to the NUSU office and come shop the tables of free stuff! Free Shopping….. why wouldn’t you want to get involved! Men’s and women’s clothes wanted!
Battery, Cell Phone, Printer Cartridges Collection
Batteries should not go into landfill waste. So bring all your battery waste to the NUSU office today and we will make sure they are recycled.

FREE Vegan Pancakes with NUSU and delegates @ the Student Centre
Start your day in a good way. Come out and taste these delicious pancakes in front of the NUSU office from 8:30-10:30am

Come check out the most eco-friendly businesses and organizations we know; from green policies to the latest innovations to help consumers live with lower impact on the environment, these businesses and organizations are doing their part in the Green Evolution.

Local Farmers Panel
12:30- 1:30 @ The Wall
Come to the Wall and participate in a discussion with a panel of local food producers about conventional farming techniques, why buying local food is important, and other views on the topic of local food production and how students can make simple changes in their lives.

Wednesday March 10th : M.A.P the Earth Festival: Music Arts and Preformances @ The Wall
The M.A.P. The Earth Festival is a day long event which will host Music, Fine Arts and Performance Arts at Nipissing University in support of Sustainability Week!
Proceeds from the event will go towards improving sustainability within the University, such as adding more recycling bins, improving water fountains, etc.
Thursday March 11th : Energy and Climate Change Day

Guest Speaker: Jeff Dech
12:30-1:30 @ The Wall
Come to the Wall and listen to Nipissing University’s very own Jeff Dech, an Assistant Professor in Biology and Forest Bioproducts Research Chair. Jeff is specifically focused on applied research problems related to the sustainable development of new forest bioproducts in northern Ontario. Friday March 12th: Do your part! Campus Clean up!
Meet at the front of the NUSU office
Come out for an hour from 11:30 until 12:30 and help make our campus and surrounding areas and trails spotless. Bring gloves if you have them. FREE pizza will be provided.
