Hello Nipissing University Students!

I’m Anna Fitzsimmons and I am asking for your vote to re-elect me to the position of Vice President External. When stepping into office on May 1st I dealt with a learning curve, and from this I have worked diligently to educate myself of all the policies and regulations which govern your Student Union. As such, if you re-elect me I will be able to “hit the ground running”—I will not have to face any learning barriers, which will allow me to do extra duties throughout the year for the students. I have also been a North Bay citizen my entire life, a fact that has been incredibly helpful when acting in my position as the liaison between the community and the school. As Vice-President External this year I have coordinated a number of successful fundraising campaigns, which have raised nearly $26,000, more money than has been raised in a single year in the history of any Nipissing University Student Union. One campaign was Shinerama; it was the highest grossing fundraiser in the history of this University, raising almost $24,000, an increase of over $10,000 and 72% over the previous year. We had over 600 amazing volunteers and made our campus shine within the community. It surpassed not only our $15,000 goal but also, the long standing six year record and was also recognized with a National Award- Most Improved Shinerama Campaign. I believe that my qualification for this position is second only to my dedication. I truly have made this position a lifestyle—my lifestyle. I hold the students’ interests and needs high in priority and have worked to the best of my ability to be a leader in student government that Nipissing students can be proud of.
