Hello Nipissing!!!

I am running for the position of VP Internal and look forward to be representing the student body here at Nipissing. As VP Internal I would have numerous responsibilities including providing inquiring students academic direction, maintaining the website, overseeing the clubs, the Academic Handbook, being an academic Senator (which I already am as the Arts and Sciences Student Senator) and sitting as an observer on the Board of Governors.

As VP Internal I will use these strong relations to guide the students and student body in the direction that is in their best interest. It is the job of the VP Internal to act as a liaison for students dealing with academic issues, am approachable and willing to listen to everyone’s concerns, needs and questions. I intend to push to change the bylaw so that funding for each club will be increased by 12.5 % to $250. Secondly I will set up Club Bar Nights, to fundraise more money for all clubs equally. I intend through the website to make it easier for students to find out information about decisions made within the student union.

I have been involved here at Nipissing for my entire four years. I am currently a Senator, I sit on the Student Tribunal, I am on the Nipissing University Street team, I have been a Frosh Leader for three year, volunteer with the international students, volunteer with road crew (setting up concerts) and sit on multiple committees. These committees, all have given me a strong background for the position of VP Internal include Academic Planning Committee, Program Review and Appraisals Subcommittee, Undergraduate Studies Committee, Undergraduate Standings and Petitions Subcommittee, Undergraduate Services and Awards Subcommittee, Graduate Studies Committee, Student Appeals Committee, Teaching and Learning Committee and Technology and Infrastructure Subcommittee.
