Shinerama

Teams from both Nipissing and Canadore travel to locations throughout the city of North Bay to wash cars and raise money for Shinerama. Shinerama is Canada’s largest post-secondary fundraiser, involving students at approximately 65 university and college campuses across Canada, annually. What began in 1964 as a shoe-shining campaign has since grown to include a wide variety of community and campus based events under the Shinerama banner. Since Shinerama began, student volunteers have raised more than $19 million to support the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CCFF). In fact, in 2008, more than 35,000 enthusiastic volunteers across Canada came together to raise more than $950,000!
